No foreign missions and embassies abroad grant Bhutan tourist visas except the Department of Immigration in Thimphu. It must be processed through Bhutan Engyum Travels ahead of entering Bhutan. We will process your visa online as per the details provided to us. A one-time visa application fee of US$40.00 per person is charged along with the holiday package fee.

All visitors to Bhutan require a visa except Indians, Bangladeshis and Maldivians, who can obtain a visa at the port of entry on producing a valid passport with a minimum of six-month validity. Further, Indian nationals may also use their Voters Identity Card. For other nationalities, visas are only issued for Bhutan trip booked through local tour operators directly or overseas travel agents. You will be required to wire the full payment for the holiday package to the Tourism Council of Bhutan as per the payment instruction intimated by Bhutan Engyum Travels and similar local tour agents. It has to be transferred prior to the start of your Bhutan trip. The Tourism Council of Bhutan approves visa only after the full payment is made and updated in its designated bank account. Kindly note here that until the full payment is updated in its account, visa clearance approval is deferred by the Tourism Council of Bhutan. This money remains with the Council until your departure from the country. Once your trip is executed, the payment is released to us, which ensure the high quality of services provided to the tourists throughout the trip.
